About the Book Brady

Brady takes place during the antebellum period in a small town in Pennsylvania. The story revolves around Brady Minton, a young boy growing up amidst the complex societal norms and values of his time. The town itself serves as a microcosm of the larger issues facing the United States during this era.

Brady Minton is the protagonist who struggles with his understanding of right and wrong. Alongside him are Aunt Mattie, a staunch abolitionist, and an array of other characters who each represent different viewpoints on slavery and freedom.

Brady discovers that his beloved Aunt Mattie is involved in the Underground Railroad, risking her life to help enslaved people escape to freedom. This revelation forces Brady to question everything he has been taught about laws and morality.

As Brady becomes more involved in his aunt’s activities, he faces numerous challenges. He encounters people who are starkly opposed to the abolitionist movement, making him question his own beliefs and the societal norms he has grown up with.

The story reaches its peak when Brady must make a life-altering decision that could either endanger his family or uphold the moral values he has come to believe in. His choice marks a turning point in his life and profoundly impacts the people around him.

In the end, Brady emerges as a changed individual, more aware of the complexities of morality and justice. The town also begins to reflect the slow but significant changes happening across the nation.

Meanwhile, this page is active so you can order books; it just isn't quite as informative or graphically appealing as the new page will be. Thanks for understanding! :-)
