About the Book Brian's Winter

Brian's Winter is an alternate sequel to Paulsen's acclaimed novel Hatchet. The story picks up where Hatchet left off but imagines if Brian Robeson had not been rescued before the onset of winter. Stranded in the Canadian wilderness, Brian must adapt quickly to survive the harsh winter months.

The early chapters focus on Brian's realization that his summer survival skills will not suffice in winter. He upgrades his shelter, creates warmer clothing, and learns to hunt larger game. His ingenuity is put to the test as he crafts weapons and tools from the natural resources around him.

Winter brings with it a host of new challenges, from the scarcity of food to the dangers of severe weather. Brian's resourcefulness is pushed to its limits as he combats freezing temperatures, navigates snow-covered terrain, and fends off predators.

It takes a long time to gather all the data for our new book page format with more useful descriptions, themes, and activity ideas. Meanwhile, this page is active so you can order books; it just isn't quite as informative or graphically appealing as the new page will be. Thanks for understanding! :-)
