About the Book Code Orange

Mitchell "Mitty" Blake is like any other high school student in New York City; he enjoys hanging out with friends, listening to music, and generally living a carefree life. But things take a thrilling turn when he begins his work on a biology report about infectious diseases. Mitty's curiosity and a bit of laziness lead him to discover a dusty medical book that sets the stage for the entire storyline.

In a quest to find information for his report, Mitty stumbles upon an old medical book containing an envelope with scabs. Unbeknownst to him at first, these scabs are from a smallpox victim. This discovery plunges Mitty into a world of fear and unprecedented danger. The novel takes readers through Mitty’s escalating concerns as he realizes the potential threat locked within those old scabs.

Mitty's horror grows as he learns more about smallpox's devastating impact and the possibility that he might have exposed himself—and potentially others—to the virus. With a mix of determination and panic, Mitty navigates a suspenseful race against time. He must figure out how to deal with his discovery before it spirals out of control, drawing the attention of not just his school and parents, but sinister forces as well.

This Page Is Under Construction

It takes a long time to gather all the data for our new book page format with more useful descriptions, themes, and activity ideas. Meanwhile, this page is active so you can order books; it just isn't quite as informative or graphically appealing as the new page will be. Thanks for understanding! :-)
