About the Book Daniel's Story

Daniel's Story follows the life of Daniel, a Jewish boy living in Germany during the rise of the Nazi regime. The book begins with Daniel's relatively normal childhood, but as the political situation in Germany deteriorates, his family's life changes dramatically. They are forced to move from their home and eventually find themselves in a Jewish ghetto. Throughout the story, Daniel's narrative captures the brutality, the loss, and the tiny glimmers of hope experienced during his internment in concentration camps. Carol Matas does not shy away from the harsh realities of the Holocaust, making the book a candid yet sensitive recount of these traumatic events.

This Page Is Under Construction

It takes a long time to gather all the data for our new book page format with more useful descriptions, themes, and activity ideas. Meanwhile, this page is active so you can order books; it just isn't quite as informative or graphically appealing as the new page will be. Thanks for understanding! :-)
