About the Book Ida B.

Ida B by Katherine Hannigan follows the life of Ida B. Applewood, a spirited and imaginative girl who loves her idyllic life on her family’s apple orchard. Homeschooled by her parents, Ida B spends her days exploring nature, talking to the trees, and enjoying the freedom of her surroundings. Her world is filled with joy and creativity until her mother is diagnosed with cancer.

As her mother’s illness progresses, Ida B’s life changes dramatically. Her parents decide to sell part of their beloved orchard to cover medical expenses, and Ida B is sent to public school for the first time. Feeling betrayed by the changes and struggling to cope with her mother’s illness, Ida B becomes angry and withdrawn.

Throughout the story, Ida B learns to navigate her new reality, finding ways to adapt and grow despite the challenges. The novel explores themes of resilience, change, and the power of nature to heal and comfort. Ida B’s journey is a touching and heartfelt exploration of how a young girl learns to accept and embrace the inevitable changes in life.

Meanwhile, this page is active so you can order books; it just isn't quite as informative or graphically appealing as the new page will be. Thanks for understanding! :-)
