About the Book Jason's Gold

Jason’s Gold by Will Hobbs is a young adult historical fiction novel set in 1897. It follows 15-year-old Jason Hawthorn, who embarks on a perilous journey to the Klondike goldfields in search of wealth. Upon hearing about the gold rush, Jason hastily travels from New York City to Seattle, stows away on a ship, and confronts numerous challenges, such as severe weather, difficult terrain, and encounters with both friends and foes.

Throughout his adventure, Jason meets historical and fictional characters, including the famous writer, Jack London. The story delves into themes of courage, resilience, and the transformative power of adventure, as Jason discovers responsibility, self-belief, and the true meaning of wealth.
