M.C. is deeply concerned about the encroaching spoil heap that threatens to bury his home. His dreams of escape are fueled by the arrival of two strangers: one who has the potential to make his mother’s singing famous, and another who embodies a freedom M.C. has never known.

Throughout the story, M.C. struggles with his sense of identity, his connection to his family, and his desire for a different life. The novel delves into themes of tradition versus change, the importance of family, and the struggle for personal freedom.
