About the Book Matilda

Matilda by Roald Dahl is a about a young girl named Matilda Wormwood, who is exceptionally intelligent and has a love for reading. Despite her extraordinary abilities, Matilda faces a challenging life, as her parents and the cruel headmistress of her school, Miss Trunchbull, fail to recognize her potential.

From a young age, Matilda teaches herself to read and devours books far beyond her years. Her parents, however, are neglectful and dismissive, preferring television over books. Matilda’s father, Mr. Wormwood, is a dishonest car salesman who often belittles her.

When Matilda starts school, she meets Miss Honey, a kind and supportive teacher who recognizes Matilda’s brilliance. Unfortunately, the school’s headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, is a tyrant who mistreats the students. Matilda discovers she has telekinetic powers and uses them to stand up to Miss Trunchbull, ultimately helping Miss Honey reclaim her inheritance and finding happiness with her.

The story explores themes of courage, kindness, and the power of standing up for oneself. Matilda’s journey is a heartwarming tale of resilience and the triumph of good over evil.

Meanwhile, this page is active so you can order books; it just isn't quite as informative or graphically appealing as the new page will be. Thanks for understanding! :-)
