About the Book Maurice's Room

Maurice’s Room by Paula Fox is a charming story about an eight-year-old boy named Maurice who has a passion for collecting various items, which he treasures as his “junk.” His room is filled with an eclectic mix of objects, from a dried octopus to a bottle of dead beetles, and even practical items like nails and screws.

Maurice’s parents, however, do not share his enthusiasm for his collection. They see his treasures as clutter and are unsympathetic to his attachment to them. The story takes a turn when the family moves to the countryside, which brings about a transformation in Maurice’s life and his relationship with his collection.

The book explores themes of individuality, the value of personal treasures, and the challenges of understanding and acceptance within a family. Maurice’s journey is a heartwarming tale of a young boy’s struggle to protect what he loves and find his place in a new environment.

Meanwhile, this page is active so you can order books; it just isn't quite as informative or graphically appealing as the new page will be. Thanks for understanding! :-)
