About the Book Messenger

Messenger by Lois Lowry is the third installment in the Giver Quartet, set in an isolated community known as Village. The story follows Matty, a young boy with a mysterious healing power, who serves as the community’s message-bearer. Village, once a utopian society welcoming to all, begins to experience disharmony as its citizens grow selfish and demand to close its borders.

Matty, living with a blind man named Seer, is tasked with delivering messages through the dangerous Forest that surrounds Village. As the community’s altruism fades, Matty discovers his supernatural gift of healing, which he must use to save his friends and restore harmony. The novel explores themes of sacrifice, the corruption of power, and the importance of community.

Meanwhile, this page is active so you can order books; it just isn't quite as informative or graphically appealing as the new page will be. Thanks for understanding! :-)
