Misty of Chincoteague is a beloved children’s novel by Marguerite Henry, first published in 1947. The story is set on Chincoteague Island, Virginia, and follows two siblings, Paul and Maureen Beebe, who dream of owning a wild pony named Phantom. During their quest, they discover Phantom has a foal, Misty, and their adventure to capture and tame these ponies unfolds.
