About the Book No More Dead Dogs

No More Dead Dogs by Gordon Korman is a humorous middle-grade novel that explores the consequences of always telling the truth. The story revolves around Wallace Wallace, a popular eighth-grade football hero who refuses to lie, even in a book report. When he writes a negative review of the classic novel “Old Shep, My Pal,” his English teacher, Mr. Fogelman, gives him detention until he rewrites it. Wallace’s detention involves attending rehearsals for the school play based on the book.

Initially uninterested, Wallace gradually becomes involved in the production, suggesting changes that improve the play and his own life. The story is told from multiple perspectives, including Wallace, Rachel Turner (a drama club member), and Mr. Fogelman. The novel humorously addresses themes of honesty, friendship, and personal growth.

It takes a long time to gather all the data for our new book page format with more useful descriptions, themes, and activity ideas. Meanwhile, this page is active so you can order books; it just isn't quite as informative or graphically appealing as the new page will be. Thanks for understanding! :-)
