About the Book On My Honor

Twelve-year-old Joel Bates and his best friend Tony Zabrinsky are eagerly looking forward to a day of adventure. Despite Joel’s father's warning, the boys decide to bike to the state park, where Tony convinces Joel to swim in the dangerous Vermillion River. The decision leads to a tragedy when Tony drowns, leaving Joel to grapple with guilt, fear, and the daunting task of telling the truth.

Joel's internal struggle and his interactions with the adults around him, particularly his father, highlight the emotional turmoil he faces. The novel captures the weight of responsibility and the challenge of confronting one's actions in the face of devastating consequences.

This Page Is Under Construction

It takes a long time to gather all the data for our new book page format with more useful descriptions, themes, and activity ideas. Meanwhile, this page is active so you can order books; it just isn't quite as informative or graphically appealing as the new page will be. Thanks for understanding! :-)
