About the Book Ruby Holler

Ruby Holler by Sharon Creech is a heartwarming middle-grade novel that tells the story of Dallas and Florida, 13-year-old orphaned twins living at the Boxton Creek Home for Children. Known as the “trouble twins,” they have faced numerous hardships and have been returned from several foster homes due to their supposed misbehavior.

Their lives take a dramatic turn when they are invited to spend the summer with an elderly couple, Tiller and Sairy Morey, who live in the idyllic Ruby Holler. The Moreys, who miss their own grown children, plan separate adventures: Tiller with Florida on a boat trip and Sairy with Dallas to a place called Kangadoon. Initially skeptical of their good fortune, the twins gradually warm up to the Moreys’ kindness and the peaceful life in Ruby Holler.

The novel explores themes of family, trust, and the healing power of nature. Through their adventures and the nurturing environment provided by Tiller and Sairy, Dallas and Florida learn to trust again and discover the meaning of home and family.

Meanwhile, this page is active so you can order books; it just isn't quite as informative or graphically appealing as the new page will be. Thanks for understanding! :-)
