About the Book Shiloh Season

Shiloh Season by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor is the second book in the Shiloh series, continuing the story of Marty Preston and his beloved beagle, Shiloh. After rescuing Shiloh from his abusive owner, Judd Travers, Marty faces new challenges as Judd’s behavior becomes increasingly erratic due to his worsening alcohol addiction.

Tensions rise in the community when Judd crashes his car near Marty’s home, and Marty must navigate his own moral dilemmas about right and wrong, forgiveness, and responsibility. The novel explores themes of compassion, the complexity of human nature, and the bonds between humans and animals, as Marty learns that protecting Shiloh involves more than just keeping him safe from physical harm.
