About the Book Silas Marner

Silas Marner by George Eliot is set in the early 19th century in the English countryside village of Raveloe. The story follows Silas Marner, a reclusive weaver who is unjustly accused of theft and exiled from his religious community in Lantern Yard. Devastated by the betrayal, Silas moves to Raveloe, where he lives in isolation, finding solace only in his work and the gold he hoards.

Silas’s life takes a dramatic turn when his gold is stolen, plunging him into despair. However, his fortunes change when he discovers an abandoned child, Eppie, on his doorstep. Raising Eppie brings joy and purpose back into Silas’s life, leading to his redemption and reintegration into the community. The novel explores themes of love, community, and the transformative power of human connection.

Meanwhile, this page is active so you can order books; it just isn't quite as informative or graphically appealing as the new page will be. Thanks for understanding! :-)
