About the Book The Book of Three
The Book of Three introduces us to the land of Prydain, a magical realm inspired by Welsh mythology, where young Taran dreams of adventure. Taran is an Assistant Pig-Keeper at Caer Dallben, caring for a prophetic pig named Hen Wen. His uneventful life takes a dramatic turn when Hen Wen escapes, thrusting Taran into an unexpected quest.
Accompanied by an eclectic group of companions, including the feisty princess Eilonwy, the loyal but bumbling bard Fflewddur Fflam, and the peculiar creature Gurgi, Taran must confront the sinister Horned King and uncover the secrets of his own identity. Their perilous journey through mystical landscapes and encounters with dark forces shapes Taran’s growth from a naive boy into a burgeoning hero.
