About the Book The Borrowers

The Borrowers introduces readers to a unique and hidden world beneath the floorboards of an old English house. This tiny universe is inhabited by the Clock family—Pod, Homily, and their adventurous daughter, Arrietty. These miniature beings, known as Borrowers, live by borrowing everyday items from the "human beans" living above them. Their lives are a delicate balance of resourcefulness and caution, as being discovered by humans could spell disaster for their tiny community.

Arrietty, the young and spirited protagonist, longs to explore the world beyond her family's cozy home. Her curiosity leads her to venture outside, where she encounters a young boy named George. This meeting sets off a chain of events that will change the lives of the Borrowers forever. Through Arrietty's eyes, readers experience the thrill of discovery and the challenges of living in a world where everything is giant-sized.

As Arrietty befriends George, the Borrowers' carefully hidden existence is threatened. The boy's fascination with their tiny world leads to unintended consequences, forcing the Borrowers to confront their fears and find a new way of life. The novel takes readers on a heart-pounding adventure as the Clock family navigates dangers, both human and natural, in their quest for survival.

Meanwhile, this page is active so you can order books; it just isn't quite as informative or graphically appealing as the new page will be. Thanks for understanding! :-)
