About the Book The Clay Marble

Dara and her family flee their war-ravaged village in Cambodia to seek refuge in Thailand. Upon reaching a refugee camp, Dara meets Jantu, a spirited girl who quickly becomes her friend.

Life in the refugee camp is fraught with difficulties, yet it's also where Dara discovers the power of hope. Jantu introduces Dara to the concept of creating "clay marbles," simple toys that symbolize dreams and the aspiration for a better future. Through Jantu's guidance, Dara learns to channel her fears into creativity, finding solace in the act of crafting.

The turning point in the story occurs when Dara and Jantu are separated during an attack on the camp. Dara's journey across dangerous terrains to find Jantu showcases the perils of the life of refugees as well as Dara's growth from a scared child into a courageous young girl.

This Page Is Under Construction

It takes a long time to gather all the data for our new book page format with more useful descriptions, themes, and activity ideas. Meanwhile, this page is active so you can order books; it just isn't quite as informative or graphically appealing as the new page will be. Thanks for understanding! :-)
