About the Book The Cricket in Times Square

The story begins in the bustling environment of New York City's Times Square. A small cricket named Chester finds himself transported from his quiet countryside home to this noisy, busy city. Accidentally trapped in a picnic basket, Chester's adventure takes off from the moment he arrives in Times Square.

Lost and confused, Chester is discovered by a young boy named Mario Bellini, who runs a struggling newsstand with his parents. Mario quickly takes a liking to Chester and decides to keep him as a pet. The cricket then meets two more significant characters—Tucker Mouse and Harry Cat, who become his loyal friends and companions.

Chester is not just any cricket; he has a special talent for playing beautiful music by rubbing his wings together. This unique ability soon catches the attention of everyone in Times Square, transforming Chester into an unexpected sensation and bringing prosperity to Mario’s family’s newsstand.
