About the Book The Cybil War
This coming-of-age story revolves around a love triangle involving three sixth-graders. Simon, the protagonist, is infatuated with the charming Cybil Ackerman. However, his best friend Tony also harbors feelings for her, leading to a series of humorous events that test their friendship.
Simon struggles to express his feelings, often resorting to immature antics that backfire. Tony, on the other hand, is more straightforward but also more aggressive, causing friction between the two friends. Cybil, caught in the middle, navigates her feelings with a blend of innocence and wisdom that belies her age. Throughout the book, the characters struggle with jealousy, loyalty, and the complexities of young love, all while trying to maintain their friendships.
