About the Book The Door in the Wall

The Door in the Wall unfolds in medieval England, where a young boy named Robin finds himself in a dire situation. The son of a nobleman, Robin is struck by an illness that leaves him unable to walk. His parents are away, and he is left in the care of Sir Peter de Lindsay. However, when the city is struck by the plague, Robin is abandoned and must rely on the kindness of Brother Luke, a monk who becomes his mentor and guide.

Brother Luke takes Robin to St. Mark's, where he begins a journey of self-discovery and recovery. Through his interactions with the monks and his efforts to overcome his physical limitations, Robin learns valuable life lessons about patience, hard work, and the importance of inner strength. The narrative follows Robin as he grows from a helpless child to a determined young man, ready to face the world with renewed vigor.

The story reaches its climax when Sir Peter's castle is besieged, and Robin plays a crucial role in saving it. Using his ingenuity and the skills he has gained, Robin finds "the door in the wall" — both literally and metaphorically — that leads to the castle's salvation. The resolution sees Robin gaining a newfound sense of purpose and a deeper understanding of his own capabilities.

It takes a long time to gather all the data for our new book page format with more useful descriptions, themes, and activity ideas. Meanwhile, this page is active so you can order books; it just isn't quite as informative or graphically appealing as the new page will be. Thanks for understanding! :-)
