About the Book The Higher Power of Lucky

The story centers around ten-year-old Lucky Trimble, who lives in the small town of Hard Pan, California. Lucky, orphaned after her mother passed away, lives with her French guardian, Brigitte. Despite the hardships, Lucky is determined to find her "Higher Power," something she hears about during eavesdropping on various twelve-step meetings held in the town.

Lucky constantly battles the fear of abandonment, especially since she believes Brigitte will return to France, leaving her alone. This fear drives much of Lucky's actions and decisions throughout the book, adding a layer of tension and urgency to her quest.

In the end, through a series of adventures and misadventures, Lucky discovers that her Higher Power is within herself. She learns that resilience, hope, and the support of her quirky yet loving community are what truly empower her. Brigitte’s decision to stay and adopt Lucky officially brings a heartfelt resolution to the story.

Meanwhile, this page is active so you can order books; it just isn't quite as informative or graphically appealing as the new page will be. Thanks for understanding! :-)
