About the Book The House of Dies Drear

Thomas Small moves with his family to a historic house in Ohio. The house, once owned by Dies Drear, a wealthy abolitionist, was part of the Underground Railroad—a network of secret routes and safe houses used by enslaved African Americans to escape into free states and Canada.

From the moment Thomas arrives, he feels a sense of foreboding. The house is rumored to be haunted by the ghosts of escaping slaves who died on the property. Thomas's father, a history professor, is fascinated by the house's connection to the Underground Railroad and is determined to uncover its secrets.

As Thomas explores the house, he discovers secret passages and hidden rooms that were used to hide runaway slaves. He also encounters Mr. Pluto, the house's enigmatic caretaker, who seems to know more about the house's history than he lets on. Together with his new friend, Pesty Darrow, and his family, Thomas unravels the mysteries of the house, confronting both human and supernatural threats.

Meanwhile, this page is active so you can order books; it just isn't quite as informative or graphically appealing as the new page will be. Thanks for understanding! :-)
