About the Book The Midnight Horse

The Midnight Horse by Sid Fleischman is an adventurous tale about a young orphan named Touch who finds himself entangled in a series of thrilling events. On his way to visit his great-uncle, Judge Henry Wigglesforth, Touch encounters the ghost of a famous magician, The Great Chaffalo, who once had the power to turn straw into a horse.

Touch soon discovers that his great-uncle is involved in a sinister plot to acquire a valuable inheritance and force a local innkeeper, Miss Sally Hoskins, to sell her inn. With the help of The Great Chaffalo’s ghost, Touch devises clever plans to thwart his uncle’s schemes, protect the inn, and save a bag of precious pearls. The story is filled with suspense, magic, and the triumph of good over evil.

It takes a long time to gather all the data for our new book page format with more useful descriptions, themes, and activity ideas. Meanwhile, this page is active so you can order books; it just isn't quite as informative or graphically appealing as the new page will be. Thanks for understanding! :-)
