About the Book The Same Stuff as Stars

The Same Stuff as Stars by Katherine Paterson follows the life of Angel Morgan, an eleven-year-old girl facing significant challenges. With her father in jail and her mother struggling to support the family, Angel and her younger brother Bernie are left in the care of their great-grandmother in rural Vermont. The great-grandmother is frail and largely bedridden, leaving Angel to shoulder much of the responsibility.

Amidst these hardships, Angel finds solace in a mysterious stranger who teaches her about the stars and the universe. This “star man” becomes a beacon of hope for Angel, helping her to see beyond her immediate struggles and dream of a brighter future. The novel beautifully explores themes of resilience, family, and the power of hope, as Angel learns that she is made of the same stuff as stars, capable of shining brightly even in the darkest times.

This Page Is Under Construction

It takes a long time to gather all the data for our new book page format with more useful descriptions, themes, and activity ideas. Meanwhile, this page is active so you can order books; it just isn't quite as informative or graphically appealing as the new page will be. Thanks for understanding! :-)
